Mission Statement

The co-major in Innovation and Society is founded on the idea that everyone can (and must) contribute to designing a better future.

Students who enroll in the co-major will develop knowledge and skills that can contribute to any major or career path. Classes intentionally focus on experiential learning (i.e., learning by doing) and involve reciprocal collaborations with community partners in both non-profit and for-profit professional spheres. As a program, our goal is to design equitable learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom and help students develop portfolios that represent their best work. To do so, students in the co-major take classes with peers from a diverse array of majors at the university, learning from each other while practicing innovation strategies to help design more equitable futures.
